As I continue this journey, I feel like a witness—something unique and special—being drawn into each new place I encounter. It’s as if every step I take brings me closer to my own spirit, to that beat within me, the pulse that makes my heart skip and come alive, feeling regenerated, re-inspired, with every encounter. I’m here, yet also beyond, observing, absorbing, and living in a state that feels deeply connected to something both here and out there.

I think of Thompson—Hunter S. Thompson, whose style of gonzo journalism carved out a raw, unfiltered view of life. Reading Hell’s Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga or Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, you see he was always right in the mix, not just recording, but embodying each moment, wild and visceral. Thompson’s world wasn’t just about the words; it was about living on the edge of experience, using that unsteady ground as his lens. Whether he was with bikers who were as pure American South as you could find or pushing his own boundaries with psychedelics, he was immersed. LSD wasn’t just a curiosity for him; it was fuel for his fire, a motivation, a way to open himself to more.

You get a glimpse of this rhythm in his journals. Thompson didn’t live by the clock; he crafted his own time. Waking up at 3 p.m., he’d head to the bar, where he’d settle quietly with a beer. It was his way of easing into his zone. Later, as night fell, he’d take his tab of LSD, fire up his old typewriter, and let his words spill out in the early hours. That was when his soul found its beat. That was the start of his magic.

For me, as I travel, moving from one culture to another, from events rich in energy to spaces charged with spirituality, I’m beginning to understand what it means to be part of this tradition. I’m learning to see each moment, each person I meet, as part of a story unfolding, and I want to experience this journey in my own way—a kind of guerrilla journalism in the spirit of its creator. I am here to witness, to feel, and to capture the world in its raw, unfiltered reality.
